Sandy Maudlin Seminar October 11, 12, 13

Sandy Maudlin a well know watercolor Batik artist from Ohio will be coming to Indy Decorative Artist chapter on October 11, 12, 13, 2012.  You are invited to come and paint with us and Sandy.  The seminar starts at 8am at the John Knox Presbyterian Church, 3000 High School Rd.,  Indianapolis, IN 46224. Now is the time to purchase your tickets for the New 2012 IDA Safari Quilt.  The tickets may be purchased from any IDA member for 6 for $5.00 or $1.00 each.
The tickets will also be for sale at the Indiana State Fair. The quilt is beautifully painted by our IDA members and quilted by Mary Alice Harcourt. Mary Alice won First place and Reserve Champion for the quilting of the quilt at the Putnam County Fair.  Here is a few pictures of the quilt, be sure to get your tickets today!

2012 Sandy Aubuchon Seminar

DecoArt's Sandy Aubuchon will be coming on May 30, 31, June 1st. The first day is Traditions Roses in the heart frame; 2nd day is on Fabric, Flowers and Butterflys, 3rd day Regular Americana,Irises. Class fee is $25.00 for each class, therefore all 3 days will be $75.00.  You need to have your own surfaces to paint on and shirt. Class will begin at 9:am.  Please bring your own lunch so that we can all stop and start at the same time.

  Please plan to come and paint with Sandy and your IDA friends for all 3 days or 1 or 2 days. All guest are welcome, additional fee may be required for nonmembers.  Please contact Mickey Bullock for additional information.

IDA Retreat is now a memory

A great time was had at our IDA retreat and already plans are in motion for 2013.
Julia Fish-Thompson was the 2012 Turkey Award or I would rather say "Artist of the Year".  Congratulations Julia!  We also had some heated moments when Susie tried to "accidently" burn her sweatshirt. Debbie A. burnt a hole in a glitter tray too. So what a hot night that was. HaHa. Marie M. and her committee did an excellent job and from my prespective it went smoothly. Below is a couple of photos from the retreat.
As I have been called for federal jury duty on April 9th I will not be teaching the after paint in. Thanks to Cindi E. for stepping up and taking my place. Please plan to stay and see how to make Artist Trading Cards. Plan to make a few to trade too!

IDA meeting January 2012

Welcome to Indy Decorative Artists New Blog!

Welcome to our new blog! We are excited to have you on line with us. We are gearing up for our Annual retreat on March 19-22, 2012 at the Brown County Inn.
